President IEDC, Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the States leading economic development agency
Founder of Bedel Financial
In 1996, second-year law student Nancy Lublin received a $5,000 inheritance from her great-grandfather and decided to turn this gift into one that would keep on giving. She teamed up with three nuns in her area and, identifying a crucial need that was not being filled, founded Dress for Success in the basement of a church in Manhattan. From that original basement boutique, the mission of Dress for Success spread over all North America and then across the globe, demonstrating that achieving economic independence is a challenge that all women face regardless of their location, language, customs or culture.
To carry on in her memory, Dress for Success Indianapolis is seeking community leaders committed to the mission of supporting local women professionally by providing business attire, job placement services, and training to propel them towards employment and ultimately economic independence. This priceless gift, like a string of pearls, is an asset to the individual, her family, and our city! As a Dress for Success Indianapolis Pearl Society Member, you will align yourself with an established, well respected organization, impacting over 1,100 Indianapolis women entering the workforce and helping grow our economy.
We are asking for a minimum tax-deductible donation of $1,000 to help support the Dress for Success programming. This gift will provide 5 or more local women seeking employment with an appointment to be fitted with a business suit, blouses, shoes, purse, and accessories, accompanied with career and job placement services!
